American, likely Mississippi Period. Large clay pot artifact, likely used for cooking due to its size and shape. Simple vessel with two handles on sides and lacking further decoration. Item was found over the course of years near the Tennessee/Georgia state line by Dan Stroud who pieced fragments together reconstructing the utilitarian object. Height 13.6", diameter of top 11.25", width (across handles) 13.5". Provenance: Found and assembled by Dan Stroud whereby it was purchased by the consignor in 2013.
