each having gilt metal beaks and legs, their bodies with foliate and archaistic beast decoration, their wings forming shell coverings lifting off to reveal the body cavity, each crane with a detachable budding branch and candle arm with enameled bud and bobeche, raised on a naturalistic, domed base with pierced brass hexagonal gallery above a waisted, conforming base, set in a fitted wood base. Height to top of crane's head 43 inches.
