Autographed letter accomplished in Dickens' hand with his name ("Charles Dickens") in text, one page, on a bifolium, on Gad's Hill Place letterhead, October 18, 1861. Dickens writes to Hunt and Roskell regarding his seal, which he does not want to contain his monogram but rather simply the separate letters "C D" in old English characters. 7 x 8 3/4 inches unfolded.
