A complete set of 12 postcards designed for [The Doll Fairy] with two descriptive inserts in Russian and French, lithographed in color by A. Ilin, St. Petersburg. Housed in rare original envelope also designed by Bakst. St. Petersburg: Issued to benefit the St. Evgenya Red Cross Society, 1904. The present designs for Josef Bayer's established Bakst as a major costume designed in 1903; he would go on to contribute to Diaghilev's legendary Ballets Russes in 1909, which would earn him his greatest fame. All unused; some loss to envelope.
