(American/African b. 1940- ). "Two Fighting Lions"--1994. Patinated bronze animal group sculpture depicting two male lions aggressively fighting on another, raised on hind legs with their front paws grasping the other. Signed, dated and numbered on bronze "Robert Glen 1994 1/6" also with Italian foundry mark. Edition 1/6, foundry identification number 140. Overall height 16 inches, width 21.6 inches, depth 12.6 inches. Bronze height 15.25 inches, width 20 inches, depth 11.25 inches. Accompanied with copies of certificate of authencity from Robert Glen and issued in October of 1994. The document states the title, edition, and states that Robert Glen sculpted the piece in East Africa and that the work was cast in bronze at Fonderia Artistica Mariani in Pietrasanta, Italy. Also accompanied with copies of correspondence between Mr. Thomas Patton and Mrs. Marie Patton on the work of art to Julia Glen and an invoice for the bronze sculpture.
