each panel having three recessed cartouches containing gilt and carved jade, ivory and hardstone decoration of items from the scholar's desk and landscape scenes with flowering plants, framed by carved cinnabar and black lacquer surround having carved geometric decoration, the panels connected with metal rat-tail hinges.
