late 19th century, Hong Kong/Shanghai, the body having chased and embossed decoration of a battle scene, the handle in the form of a tree trunk with applied grape leaves with spiraling tendrils and grape clusters, having a shield form cartouche at the front inscribed, "Race Cup, Won by Mr. J. Landerson's 'Molly,' Amoy Races 1870," having maker's mark on the underside of LC within a rectangular cartouche, with Chinese character mark; approximate weight 12.16 ozt. Height 5 3/4 inches.
