First edition, first printing, in first state dust jacket, without the New York Times review. One of 4,728 copies, the majority of which went to public libraries. Housed in a custom full blue morocco case with red leather spine labels and cloth chemise. Previous owner's manuscript ex-libris to f.f.e.p.; light spotting to fore edge; some minor creases, loss at spine ends and corners, toning to dust jacket; foot of cloth spine bumped.
