Chinese, Late 19th/Early 20th century. Large carved wood sculpture depicting a man (possibly illustrating the God of Wealth in the form of a general) holding a short in his right hand, his left hand held in a fist up by his shoulder. Man wearing crown waves and beading, animal heads and scaling on red, blue and green armor. Man with stern facial expression and dark hair, mustache and beard. Figure standing at full length and in the round on a integral blue rectangular base. Apparently unsigned. Height 76", width 42", depth 18".
