Qing Dynasty, comprised of four tiered compartments with hinged corners, each having carved decoration throughout with the staggered shelves separated by pierce carved screens of traditional motifs including dragons, cranes, bamboo and geometric designs, the surface of the shelves having black lacquer with gilt floral sprigs, the lower register of each shelf containing six rectangular panels depicting landscape scenes with the central panel attached to a single drawer, the whole raised atop a shaped apron and squat scrolled feet. Height 18 1/4 inches.
