Lowville, NY: 1894-1917. 12 (of 13) parts. 8vo, text books and mounts loose as issued in blind-stamped folders and gilt-lettered calf slipcases with metal clasps. Mixed editions: Parts 1 and 11 (1910), 2 (1917), 3 (1900), 4-5 (1894), 6, (1895), 7 (1897), 8 (1899), 10 (1904), 12 (1911), 13 (1913). With 253 (of 325) mounts, each displays three specimens from a species of tree in transverse, radial and tangential sections. Part 1 lacking slipcase; some scuffing to slipcase spines; some samples cracked with chipping and portions missing from a few.
