English, Late 18th/Early 19th Century (circa 1790-1810). Mahogany wood string inlaid diminutive commode or wash stand with square top with two rectangular hinged lids that open to storage within. Front of commode with two faux drawer fronts with oval brass pulls over two hinged doors that access same interior space above two pull out drawers with oval brass pulls. Commode raised on four tapered rectangular legs terminating on wheeled casters. Height 28" x 18.75" square. Provenance: Church Street Galleries, Charleston, South Carolina whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia in 1998.
