English, Early 19th century. Rectangular mahogany wood lift top beau-brummel or poudreuse with two hinged doors at top that open to reveal storage compartments and mirror within. Faux drawer front at top with octagonal brass hardware above two small pull out drawers with string inlay detail. Table raised on rectangular tapered legs with additional string inlay accents terminating on wheeled caster feet. Curved shelf stretcher in lower register. Height 34.75", width 30.2", depth 19". Provenance: Church Street Galleries, Charleston, South Carolina whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia in 1998.
