Native American Indian Navajo (Toby Henderson) sterling silver and turquoise accented Sun Kachina (Tawa) doll figurine with feathered headdress recalling the sun's rays. Spiritual figure holding bell in hand and feathered object in other. Figure with oval turquoise stone on abdomen and five smaller stones in V form accents on chest, additional oval turquoise on back. Marked on underside of drum form base with "STERLING SILVER NAVAJO" under TH with radiating marks for Toby Henderson. Height 4.9". Total weight approximately 67 grams. Note: Tawa is a representation of the spirit of the Sun although sometimes he is referred to as the Sun Shield Kachina. Tawa appears in a role very similar to that of Nakiachop or Talavai, standing to the side with a spruce tree in his left hand and a bell in his right. Also, he may appear in a Mixed Dance with the flute in his left hand that is associated with him in many myths.
