A rare edition of this important work of natural history. Rubbing to boards at extremities; light intermittent foxing; previous owner's manuscript ex-libris to f.f.e.p. both vols.; vol. 2: "the platypus," "the kanguroo," and "the white bear" plates detached but present, 2 1/4-inch tear to "the lion" (facing title p.), and 5-inch tear to "the reindeer" (p. 152).
