Continental, probably France, 20th century. A petite or diminutive Directoire style gilt metal mounted kingwood and satinwood bureau plat, the rectangular top with an inset tooled leather surface and brass banding above a case fitted with a central drawer flanked to either side by two small drawers, all cross-banded, the sides quarter-veneered and raised on tapering square, tapered legs ending in sabots. Approximate height 28.5". width 37", depth 23.5".
