A box set containing mesh surrounding a broken bottle, a presentation album, photographs, a clipping and the original program from the launching and christening of the tanker, built for Stavros S. Niarchos, and sponsored by Mrs. Asenath Mitchell Whiteford, wife of William K. Whiteford, president of the Gulf Oil Corporation. Quincy, Massachusetts, February 9, 1954. According to a newspaper article (Boston Herald, Wednesday, February 10), the was the largest oil tanker up to that point built in the United States at 736 feet with a capacity for 16.5 million gallons. The archive consists of an album, presented to Mrs. Whiteford, by the officers and crew of with 34 pp. of tipped-in black and white original photographs of the ship's construction and launching.
