Appointment of Asa O. Colby as Deputy Postmaster at Holyoke in the State of Massachusetts. Framed with a portrait photograph of Lincoln. Even toning to edges of page; creases from folds; original paper seal faded; very minor chip to top edge and left edge; otherwise fine with bold signature. Accompanied by a copy of a letter from John A. Lupton, Associate Director of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, attesting to the authenticity of the signature and stating that a copy of said appointment has been located in the National Archives in College Park, Maryland.
