A group of two autographed letters signed by Harvey Milk. (1) 1 page. Postmarked December 15, 1954, Norfolk, Virginia. Suggesting a fear of outing in the Navy. To Pat Mormon, Las Vegas, Nevada. Milk states: "Don't write or do anything - I've been turned in by Johnny Teynel and Marty 'Kid' [illegible] and a third party." With envelope lacking return address. Milk was discharged from the Navy for undisclosed reasons. (2) 1 page. Postmarked New York City, New York. To Pat Mormon, Las Vegas, Nevada. Written on both sides and pertaining to gay marriage and gay culture in the military, San Diego, Japan and Norfolk, Virginia. Envelope with return address. Pat Mormon and Harvey Milk were close personal friends in the Navy and kept correspondence during their service and following Milk's discharge. 23 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches each.
