An illuminated manuscript leaf on vellum from a Bible, Gospel of John. French, c. 15th century. With two three-line capital letters, both the letter "P" in pink and blue with full-length marginal descender and decorative extension terminating in a leafy spray. Double column with 50 lines of text in a Gothic hand. Matted. Some wrinkling to vellum and soiling at the upper margins; otherwise fine. 14 x 10 inches.
