An illuminated manuscript leaf on vellum depicting "The Annunciation," from a Renaissance Book of Hours. France, 15th century. Matted in moir silk, in a double-glazed church window frame. Wear to frame and matting; paint chipped from the faces due to wrinkling of the vellum; otherwise colors are bright. Size of leaf 6 1/4 x 4 2/3 inches; size of frame 12 1/2 x 8 3/4 inches.
