Illustrated with 86 individual hand-colored plates depicting views of Oxford and scholarly costumes, plus an uncolored frontispiece portrait of Lord Grenville. A first issue copy without the portraits of the Founders of Oxford. Half-titles and subscriber list present. Label missing from spine of vol. 1; light foxing to first few leaves in each volume; offsetting to text from plates; top edges slightly browned; otherwise a fine set.
