Large Japanese porcelain fish bowl or vessel with flow blue circular wreath decoration and banding at top highlighted with colored enamels. Further ornamented with kabuki or noh masks including brown painted Tengu mask with traditional long phallic nose and grotesque facial features as well as white painted Ko-omote mask of a young woman of not yet twenty years of age. Fish bowl without decoration in interior. Apparently unmarked. Height 12.75", diameter 16.75".
