Italian, 19th century. In the manner of Giovanni Paolo Panini (Italian,1691-1765), "Capriccio with Figures", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Classical landscape with architectural ruins beside a river with arched footbridge under cloudy blue sky with scattered figures resting in the foreground. Accompanied with copy of letter from Davison-Paxton, Atlanta, Georgia attributing the work to Panini and establishing the provenance of the painting as being purchased by the Corner Shop in December of 1953. Framed 34.5" x 44.5". Unframed 30" x 39.5".
