Of inverted pear shape, extensively chased with flowers and foliage, applied with swing handle rising from stylized dolphins, engraved with a coat of arms of Boswell and the emblem of the British Isles, the stand on three scroll supports headed by chinoiserie masks. With associated lamp by Crichton, Circa 1930. Height 16". (138 oz) Provenance: The arms are those of Boswell quartering Houstoun with Boswell in pretence for Sir George Augustus Frederick Houstoun-Boswell, 2nd Baronet, born 1809, colonel in the Grenadier Guards, D.L. for Berwick, and his wife Euphemia, only daughter of Thomas Boswell of Blackadder, whom he married in 1847.
