London: George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd., 1929 4to. 232 pp. First Arthur Rackham Edition. Bound in publisher's original full vellum, with bright gilt lettering to the spine and front board. A rose is gilt-stamped at the bottom of the spine, while the front board features a triple-rule gilt-stamped border. Illustrated throughtout with numerous in-text black and white illustrations, as well as 12 color plates (all present and intact). Tops of the leaves are gilt, fore-edges and bottoms are untrimmed; pictorial endpapers. The boards are very slightly bowed, as usual. The text is clean, tight, and bright, with very minimal and scattered foxing to the fore-edges of the leaves. Limitation page reads, "Edition limited to Five Hundred and Seventy-Five copies for England and Two Hundred copies for the United States, of which this is No. 422 of the English Issue". Signed by Arthur Rackham below this limitation statement. Book is housed in the original box, which also bears the title and No. 422 on the top panel. Box is in good condition, with some rubbing to the extremities and some corner cracks that have been repaired with cellophane tape.
