Autographed letter initialled ("CD"), one page, on "Office of All the Year Round" letterhead, London, November 17, 1868. To Reverend William Harness, complimenting his style of oration and illustrating his views on religion: "Your screaming tendencies horrify me!!! My only complaint is that I don't think many people have your freshness, or vividness of repetoire [?] Anyhow on the 3rd of January we will be bound at the stake..." Together with original envelope addressed to Harness in Dickens' hand and signed ("Charles Dickens"). Framed and matted with engraving of Dickens. Letter laid down to mat. 5 x 3 3/4 inches visible.
