the semi-translucent stone of compressed spherical form tapering towards a flat oval foot, the front carved to the russet skin highlighting a child riding atop an ox's back beside a scholar, the reverse with pine tree, pavilion and inscription ("An oxherd points to Almond Flower Village in the distance") from poem written by Tang Dynasty poet Height of agate 2 3/8 inches.
