Paul Tereszczuk (Austrian 1895-1925), patinated bronze and ivory figural group later depicting two dancers (male in Pierrot costume and young woman in long dress) in a warm and graceful embrace. Sculptural figural group later converted into an electrified lamp. Figures depicted at full length and in the round standing on a domed base with floral accents above a green onyx expanse on a gadrooned wood flared base. Marked on base "P. TERESZCZUK" and "MADE IN AUSTRIA". Lamp with two electrified sockets at top below faux ivory finial. Overall height (to top of finial) 29.25". Height of sculptural group 11.4". Provenance: Sotheby's, New York: Arcade Auction: Art Nouveau and Art Deco, December 4, 1998 as Lot 1188 whereby purchased by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
