French, circa 1900. Galle Art Nouveau marquetry inlaid music cabinet with ornate and finely handled floral and butterfly motif on two hinged doors on front that open to storage within above pull out drawer front with subtle butterflies on burled wood veneer above shelved niche with rounded archway for storage above large hinged door with inlaid bird perched in an expansive forest landscape that opens to shelving within. Sides with inlaid leaves and dragonflies. Cabinet with scrolling at top, on jambs and ridging throughout. Signed "Galle" on lower right of right hinged door on top. Height 63", width 30.25", depth 18.5". Provenance: Sotheby's New York: 20th Century Decorative Works of Art, June 6, 1996 whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
