American, Circa 1910. Fine Duffner and Kimberly leaded glass and gilt bronze table lamp. Shade comprised of burgundy, cobalt blue and opalescent glass tiles forming shield, arabesque and curtained swag motif. Shade surrounding four electrified light sockets on gilt bronze base with tapered shaft and base ornamented with Neoclassical scrolled, architectural and shield medallion motif. Signed on stem with round Duffner and Kimberly applied plaque. Marked on shaft below lamp sockets with company mark surrounded by "THE DUFFNER & KIMBERLY COMPANY NEW YORK". Marked on shade. Height 30.2", shade 20.5" square. Provenance: Sotheby's New York: Important Twentieth Century Decorative Works of Art, December 4, 1998 as Lot 627 whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
