Carlo Bugatti (Italian,1856-1940). Circa 1902, ornate chair with walnut wood frame inlaid with bone, pewter and copper in geometric Moorish manner accented with hand hammered copper metal borders surrounding vellum with hand painted plant motif on rectangular seat and back. Frame with cross support with further inlaid and copper banded ornamentation connected to two pairs of blunt bone legs with copper capped feet. Silk tassels at front. Signed on back "Bugatti". Height 32.75", width 16", depth 16.25". Seat to floor 14.5". Provenance: Sotheby's New York: Important Twentieth Century Decorative Works of Art, December 4, 1998 as Lot 508 whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
