French, 19th century. Hand carved and stained wood blanket chest of rectangular form with hinged lid that lifts to reveal storage within. Front of chest with framed panel flanked by nude busts above leaved decoration. Chest or trunk raised on four feet (front two large lion's paw form, back two bracket form). Height 22", width 52.125", depth 18.5".
