British,19th century. Edwardian inlaid kidney desk with inset tooled brown leather kidney shaped top surrounded by inlaid decoration of flowers and cornucopias above central pull out drawer in front of curved section for sitter flanked by three curved doors on each side that open to storage within, all with floral and bird inlaid motif. Front side of cabinet with two book shelves at center flanked by two large swinging curved doors with shell motif within oval medallion suspended by ribbons and accented with tassels. Writing table raised on six spade feet. Height 29.9", width 47.75", depth 29.75". Provenance: Morton M. Goldberg Auction Galleries, New Orleans, Louisiana, June 1996 as Lot 367 whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
