Italian, 19th century. Large oil on canvas ecclesiastic painting, "Presentation of Baby Jesus in the Temple", unsigned. Painting depicting numerous figures including Simeon holding the baby Jesus in a Neoclassical Italian style temple interior. Incense burners smoking in foreground. Possibly originally part of a church interior, slight curving to perspective. Unframed 78" x 53". Provenance: Purchased in Tuscany, Italy from an antiques gallery that claimed this work came out of a private chapel outside of Florence whereby acquired by current owner while renovating a historic medieval chapel in Greve in Chianti, Italy featured in Architectural Digest (March 2010).
