Russia, first half of 19th Century. 8vo (225 x 180 mm). 148 leaves. Illuminated in red and black ink, with profusely illustrated headpieces. Contemporary blind stamp leather binding over wood panels. Spine with five raised bands, two clasps (both missing). Ownership inscriptions on the first flyleaf from Alexander Petriayev (1846) and his son Grigoriy (1880). LOT NOTES: A very similar manuscript is included in the collection of the Hermitage Book Museum under inv. #213234. It has been illustrated in the Museums catalog in 2002 (p. 87, cat. 68).
