An Ibanez George Benson arch top blonde electric guitar and flightcase owned and stage used by Joni Mitchell. Purchased in 1979 from Fred Walecki's Westwood Music when Mitchell moved to electric guitars to accommodate her exploration of jazzier sounds and music. Engraved in mother of pearl at 21st fret "Joni Mitchell." Serial number I786634 on the blonde IGB indicates that it was made in September, 1978. Label on the interior with handwritten information "Model No. GB-10NT Serial No. 0745/ Designed & approved by George Benson" and signed by Benson. Accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from Joni Mitchell stating that this guitar was one of six used on her 1979 Shadows and Light and her 1983 Refuge of the Roads tours. The seminal live album Shadows and Light was recorded at the Santa Barbara County Bowl in September 1979 where this guitar was used. The guitar can be seen in the 1980 film also titled Shadows and Light .
