A heavily studio distressed pale blue button-down shirt made for Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise in Mission : Impossible (Paramount, 1996). The shirt, by Dometakis of London, was made for the final scenes on the exterior of the Eurostar train between Cruise and Jim Phelps, played by Jon Voight. Covered in studio dirt and grime, the shirt also has a series of holes in the back where Cruise would have been attached to a safety harness as well as a Velcro patch on the front shirt tail for the missing garment strap that would have connected to the back of the shirt through the actor’s legs to keep the shirt in place during the physically demanding scene. The shirt has the letter “G” in blue pen on the clothier tag, possibly denoting the stage of distress. PROVENANCE From the Collection of Simon Murray Categories: MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
