Originally kings of Men, the Nazgûl (or Ringwraiths as they became known) were Sauron’s greatest and deadliest servants – enslaved by him once they accepted his gifts of nine rings of power, each of which was subservient to the One Ring. Chief among them was the Witchking of Angmar, the greatest of the fallen kings in life, and still their leader now under enslavement to Sauron’s will. This resin prop Witchking crown was created from molds taken from the original metal hero prop and was hand-painted and weathered by the skilled craftsman at Weta Workshop during the production of The Lord of the Rings trilogy (New Line Cinema, 2001, 2002, 2003). The Witchking of Angmar makes numerous appearances throughout the Trilogy and can be seen wearing this crown during the battle at Weathertop in The Fellowship of the Ring (New Line Cinema, 2001) when Frodo puts on the One Ring and sees him in his true form. This prop was part of a collection of authentic production-created movie props procured by official New Line Cinema licensee, United Cutlery directly from Weta Workshop and Three Foot Six Productions between 1999-2004 for reference in producing a collectible repli
