The display features a print of a black and white photograph of Chaplin posing outdoors and dressed in a suit and tie. The photograph is signed “Best Wishes/ Charlie Chaplin/ 19-41” in fountain pen. Also included in the display is an original Associated Press wire photograph of Chaplin standing next to Jack Lemmon at the 1972 Academy Awards, where Chaplin was presented with an Honorary Academy Award. The 1972 Academy Awards marked Chaplin’s first appearance in the United States after a 20-year period.
