A gold tone metal bangle bracelet worn by Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra (20th Century, 1963). The bracelet has ribbing and raised details with painted scarlet red bands and ball, five dangling lotus blossoms on chain and beaded fringes, and a clasp opening. Taylor wears the same or similar bangle in several scenes in the film. The 36th Annual Academy Award for Best Color Costume Design was awarded to Renie, Vittorio Nino Novarese and Irene Sharaff for Cleopatra . Previously exhibited: Dutch National Museum of Antiquities Leiden, "Hollywood's Egypt," October 2012 through March 2013.
