A light brown 3/4 wig custom made for Ingrid Bergman in her Academy Award-winning role in Gaslight (MGM, 1944). The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards and won two. The wig is made of human hair and hand tied one strand of hair at a time to a lace mesh with silk bands in the interior to give the appearance of a scalp. Studio wigs at the time were custom made and fitted to measure by the star's head and hairline. An MGM label reads "506," and a Max Factor Studios label is inscribed "7450" with a corresponding MGM wig stock record card that is typed "506 Ingrid Bergman LT. Brown 3/4 fall Prod. #1311." The wig was acquired from MGM upon the closure of its hair and wig department. Accompanied by a canvas wig block and a copy of the film. Categories:
