A period gown designed by Helen Rose and worn by Cyd Charisse in publicity images for The Harvey Girls (MGM, 1946). The silky ivory gown is printed with scattered floral sprigs and has a fitted boned bodice with leg of mutton sleeves, a nude souffle panel with lace trim, and a full skirt. A bias label reads "Double-1348-Cyd Charisse." An M-G-M wardrobe stamp is present as well as an Old Tuscan Wardrobe stamp inscribed "3-7-34-24." Post-production alterations have been made to the piece. The costume was purchased from the MGM After Sale in 1970 by a collector who worked at MGM at the time.
