A brown wig custom made for Mario Lanza for an unknown MGM production. The wig is made of human hair and hand tied one strand of hair at a time to a lace mesh with silk bands in the interior to give the appearance of a scalp. Studio wigs at the time were custom made and fitted to measure by the star's head and hairline. An MGM label reads "1123" and a Max Factor label reads "F5862" with an MGM wig stock record card believed to have been created and dated after Lanza's death. The card reads "Stock No. 1123 date 6-3-66, M.Lanza Brown 1850." Accompanied by the original studio wig box labeled "1123 Brown 1850 M.Lanza" and a Styrofoam wig block. The wig was acquired from MGM upon the closure of its hair and wig department. Categories:
