An original director's script for Buster Keaton's classic film The General (Buster Keaton Productions, 1926), often cited as one of the greatest films of all time. From the personal collection of the film's co-director and co-writer Clyde Bruckman. Includes numerous deleted scenes and ink and pencil annotations by Bruckman and is labeled "Bruck" on the front cover. Also includes a vintage black and white photograph of the famous scene depicting the locomotive "Texas" crashing through a burning railroad trestle, reportedly the most expensive stunt of the silent era. Bruckman wrote for numerous other comedy giants such as Harold Lloyd, Laurel & Hardy, The Three Stooges, and Abbott and Costello. In 1955, due to depression aggravated by legal troubles and alcoholism, Bruckman ended his own life using a pistol that he had borrowed from Keaton. Largest, 11 by 8 5/8 inches Categories:
