A German Pickelhaube helmet used as a prop by Charlie Chaplin while filming with friends Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks at Pickfair circa 1929. Chaplin can be seen wearing the helmet in addition to placing the helmet on a globe—and knocking it off the globe—while costumed in Mary Pickford's dress. Accompanied by a copy of the film, which appears as a bonus feature on a Mary Pickford film collection DVD. The helmet would have been used circa 1915 by the Prussian military and worn with the Waffenrock uniform. Categories:
