A makeup train case used by Greta Garbo. Brown tweed with brown leather trim. Stickers affixed to exterior and interior. Two of the stickers have Garbo's typed information. The first is from the N.Y.K. Line and reads "Mdm. Greta Garbo: U.S.A./ Destination Imperial Hotel/ S.S. Kamakura Maru/ Stateroom No. Ito Suite." The second is from Norddeutscher Lloyd and reads "Name Miss Greta Garbo/ Steamer S.S. Europa/ Sailing Date Mai, 1938/ Port of Departure New York/ Port of Destination Breman, Germany." Other stickers include Imperial Hotel, Tokyo; Kauai Inn, Kauai; Hotel Victoria, New York; Savoy, Florence; Grosvenor Hotel, London; Louxor Water Palace; and the Beverly Hills Hotel. Mirror on interior top of case. Two-latch closure. The case was purchased at a Los Angeles area thrift store.
