A complete period costume worn by Leonardo DiCaprio as Philippe in The Man in the Iron Mask (United Artists, 1998). DiCaprio plays dual roles as King Louis XIV and his secret twin brother Philippe. The costume comprises a custom leather jacket with burnt orange woven sleeves with intentional studio wear and soiling effect, a bias label reads "Leonardo Di Caprio Philippe" with "Double" inscribed in different pen; a long ecru raw silk peasant tunic with soiling effect; a pair of burnt umber breeches with studio soiling effect labeled "Jane Law Worthing U.K." with a bias label that reads "Leonardo Di Caprio Philippe Double"; a pair of leather shoes inscribed to interior "Doppio Philippe 40"; a pair of long stockings; and a costumer's tag that reads "Philippe 2/9 manor costume 2" and inscribed on verso "trousers 2p 2 jackets"; and a costumer's tag that reads "19 Leonardo Di Caprio- Philippe 'Manor' 2x breeches in brown cotton 2x jacket in brown suede + cotton 2x shirts." Costume design by James Acheson. Accompanied by a copy of the film, a color transparency, and a poster. Previously displayed at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences exhibition space in Beverly Hills, California.
