An embellished black silk tulle stole made for Greta Garbo in her Academy Award nominated role in George Cukor's Camille (MGM, 1936). The stole is trimmed with a ruffle and is embellished with silver sequins that form a shooting star motif with scattered floral and star-shaped sequins. While the stole is not noticeably seen in the final cut of the film, the fabric is identical to the gown that Garbo wears in the casino sequence. Costume design by Adrian. Accompanied by a copy of the film. Previously exhibited at The Sharon Landa Gallery in Hollywood, California, 1971.
