A cream satin embellished gown worn by Greer Garson as Edna Gladney, an early campaigner for children's rights, in Blossoms in the Dust (MGM, 1941). The gown has a lampshade tunic with boning to bodice over a trained hobble skirt and is embellished with emerald colored and white rhinestones, gold sequins, and gold bullion in a feather motif. The gown was created to complement the emerald necklace Garson's character received for her eighth wedding anniversary. Costume design by Adrian. Blossoms in the Dust won two Academy Awards and was nominated for four additional awards, including Best Actress for Garson and Outstanding Motion Picture. Accompanied by a copy of the film.
